However, the benefits of the konjac plant have been explored for a long time from the people in other regions in Asia, such as China and the Koreas where it has been used also as a medicine due to its astonishing natural qualities.

The plant of the konjac, also known as the Devil’s tongue, konnyaku potato and voodoo lily is a typical vegetable which grows in the regions of East and Southeast Asia. The plant is massively utilized in a lot of areas including cosmetics but also as a culinary ingredient especially in Japan and Korea.

The konjac sponges are 100 % naturally-derived beauty tools that are also completely biodegradable and cause minimal harm to the environment. Konjac sponges are incredibly suitable for fighting conditions such as acne-prone skin, blemishes and discoloration, clogged or enlarged pores and excessive sebum of the skin. Moreover, they can be safely used on people from many different age groups! :)

Konjac sponges are a really effective yet gentle exfoliator, and when used regularly they will keep your skin smooth by removing all dead skin cells from your entire body! Technically, the sponges are suitable for all skin types, but if you have a specific skin condition, it’s a good idea to contact your doctor beforehand to prevent any unwanted irritation.

03 / How to use.

The newly fresh konjac sponge could feel quite hard and sturdy the first time you touch it and this is because of the natural hard consistency of the product. Never use the sponge dry - make sure to abundantly soak it in water for 5-10 minutes until the texture of the sponge softens. Then, squeeze the excess water out and start gently massaging your face and body area.

The proper care of the sponge is vital in order to make it last as long as possible. Usually, one sponge can live up between 4 and 6 weeks, depending on how often you use it. After every use, place the sponge in a cool and dry place and make sure it dries completely, otherwise there is a possibility of mould to grow inside the fibres. And yes - you can use your sponge every day if you wish to - this little tool is full of Asian magic!
